help!! voltage meter boucing, engine lurches when i drive uder 30mph
my 94 bonneville, god bless its heart, is still running. but my most recent problem, i the voltage meter on the dash keeps bouncing, the lights dim and bright with the bounce. the tach bounces ever so slightly along with it. when im under the hood i hear a faint tick as the meter starts it desent. ive checked connections to all plugs and coil packs, battery as well. all seem to check out. alternator was bad, and has been replaced, but problem persists. ignition module was tested and checked out fine as well. when the battery was tested with a hand held voltage meter, it was bouncing from about 13.4 to 12.5. heard a few ideas about fuel filter, bad gas, plugs and wires, serpentine belt. not sure which way to go. oh and no dummy lights pop up at all. please, help!!

Sounds like your engine is trying to stall, keeps catching itself. I would start by looking more at the engine than the electrical system. Do you have vacuum leaks that may be interfering with a smooth idle? When was the last tune up?

a just replaced the battery, because i found out it was no good. i have one of those batterychargers that tests the battery, and on no load it tests good, on load it tests bad. the book tells me to check the negative connevtions, and such. but i cant find the negative cable. the black wire that bolts on to the back runs to the positive battery cable, otherwise its the small wiring harness with 2 wires coming out of it. not sure where to go fromhere. any help would be huge.
