Off to RSM

I just got off the phone with RSM Racing

Going for the grand tour, they want to see my car, and I am looking into getting billeted aluminum engine mounts (15 ft/lb of tq recovery) as well as talkin about the TB increase and intake bore out.

Heheh, I'm excited 8)

OK, just got back. Despite having a hard time finding the place, once I got there it was well worth it!!

Got a chance to meet some of the players there and was very impressed with the whole shop. I even scored some free goodies. Hehe, they were unimpressed about not doing the exhaust from RSM, but all was forgiven once the note was heard.

;)

But! the 80mm TB goes on by the end of the month.

I'm considering upgrading the tranny/engine mounts, but its very labour intense...5hrs, but you get 15 ft.lbs of tq back....we'll see

Also had an interesting chat about intakes and volume vs density...I'll be goin with a pipe intake I think.

I have invited the RSM staff to check us out, so a big thank you for the tour!! and time to go a little faster 8)

Free goodies are always nice.

Your car should sound a lot better with an intake, add those engine mounts and it will scoot pretty good too. :D

I spoke to RSM about us here at BC when I picked up my slotted rotors from them.

Oh.... this is going to be good ..... :D

TaylorD 06-17-2004 09:24 AM

That's cool Jim, I've had several phone converstations with Zsolt and Jerry before, the 2 owners I believe.

Glad to hear that TB is going on soon, talk to them about getting that pleum piece or the intake manifold done? Oh and how did they like your bonnie blings! 8)

Jim W 06-17-2004 11:13 AM

They have a new gent that is working there now, his name escapes me, but he wanted to have a look at the car, so I parked RIGHT beside the 2001 RSM Aurora that belongs to the owner...looked good side by side. He loved the rims.

The intake manifold bore out is included in the TB work.

They need to find a core TB first tho :? Oh well....I can wait

TaylorD 06-18-2004 08:13 AM

That's cool that there going to do the intake manifold too, I take it just going to use yours, not a core envolved. It is just pastic you know

So they're driving there 01 now, not the old 95 they have on their site. I hear that thing was CRAZY loud, they wanted it that way.

What's the $$$damage$$$ for the "TB work"?

Jim W 06-18-2004 09:07 AM

yea, the only core that gets used is the TB but they bore your own manifold. Ya...plastic, but they seemed to like it 8)

The owner drives the 01 (very cool) and the daughter drives the black classic Rora...its pretty sweet to (from what I hear I didnt see it).

Its gonna cost me $299 for the TB, then the $150 core charge (so that works out ok) and 1.5hrs labour ($120 bux ish)

After taxes etc, I bet $600 bux

Merlin 91/97 06-18-2004 09:12 AM

Black Rora's are dead sexy Jim..... I'm not sure why you went with white

Black paint, tinted windows, chrome rims..... looks almost as sweet on a Rora as a Bonnie.

Jim W 06-18-2004 09:37 AM

Whites right, I like my rims more then the brushed alloy RSM rims.

At any rate...still excited about the TB
