Are 95-99 ECC'* created Equal????
the answer might be NO
i have a total of 4 ECC'* here at the House.
2 of them are from a 93, that share the Same Part numbers of 16169562, they have a smoked Screen where the digital readout
I also have 2 95-99 ECC'* that DONOT have the same Part number
the Physical differences are in the Faces
the ECC with the Part Number of 16181972 has a smoked screen where the digital readout is....now i know for 100% that this ECC was from a 97
The ECC with the Party number of 162201102, has a Red/orange shaded face where the digital readout is
here are the 2 sitting side by side
and here are the the ECC Faces Face down on a Grey Table side by side
Interesting differences

when in doubt zoom out....or atleast activate the macro mode on your camera.
anywho, are the face pieces (not including the bottons) swappable?

I can see the differences just fine. Don't know why everyone else seems to be having problems. Anyways, some small things do change from year to year and customers give their input to dealers, and it'* passed along to the engineers. Believe it or not, they do try to make little changes to make the car more appealing to customers over the years without a complete re-design.

the pics are to show the COLOR of the different faces, and nothing else
the faces are swappablew all the way back to 92 if you wanted a Tinted Face, which looks much better because the display is not visable on the tinted as it is on the red face
and the ECC in ALL bonne is Green they never had a Red ECC that Im aware of

Yeah mine has the reddish screen but obviously when it'* on it displays green...well until I overlayed clear blue vinyl on the interior glass to make it BLUE I wonder what effect the clearer "screen" would have on light output though because mine is a little dim during the day with the blue tint.

My guess is that the newer design doesn't suffer from sun wash-out as badly as the old screen. In direct sunlight I think the old one would be harder to see than the new one. I could be wrong though. The only Bonnevilles to get the red ECC are the 2000+ ASFAIK.
