Winter Wiper Blades
Hey all,
I normally change my wipers every 6 months.
I always buy the CT Motormaster Teflon blades for the summer, and the CT Winter Teflon blades for the winter. I've never had any problems with them, until this year.
My new winterized Motormaster Teflon blades from CT suck. They lift really easy at anything over 80kph and they streak like crazy at speeds above 60kph.
Then I noticed 2 things..... A) CT now sells "Reflex" wiper blades, and B) They also have a "Accufit" Motormaster Teflon Winterized blades (same brand name "Motormaster" as the ones I've always bought).
So my theory is that the newer "Accufit" is actually the same blade I've been buying for years, and the normal blade I bought this year, is now an inferrior blade design. ARG... that pisses me off to no end. Why not simply improve the normal blade and call it an Accufit, instead of downgrading your normal blade, and remarketing the existing one.
That'* such a rip off.
On the outside the normal blades and the "Accufit" ones look identical. That'* because they are both covered by rubber glove to pervent freezing. I think I'm going to try to find one of my old winter blades and cut it open, and compare it to the new pos that I bought a few weeks ago. I bet they are different, and that the "accufit" ones are identical to my older type blades. Again... this really pisses me off.
Blah.... I think I'm just going to buy the "Reflex" blades... no more Motormaster.
PS-What size wiper blades do you guys use? The CT book suggests 22inch for my 97.

Yeah try out the new reflex'* for us. Me and a buddy were just talking the other day that in over 20 years of driving neither of us have ever found a good wiper blade.
I hope the reflex'* are the answer to a canadian winter

to tell you the truth, AC Delco blades actually arent bad, mom has them on her Isuzu Rodeo, work great, then again her windshield isnt curved like the ones on the Bonneville or on my Alero. The ones on my Alero might as well not even be there in the winter, freeze up compleatly, i know i should change them, but, bah to that.

I recently purchased those new "reflex" blades for about $20 each. I got the 18 inch and they actually work pretty good. The design actually resists against lift which was noticable compared to the last set I had.

I've come to realize that there are no "perfect" blades out there! I just add it to the PM schedule to change them once every 6 months. So, with that, I just stick with the cheapies....Anco...or whatever'* on sale at the time.
