v8'* to be balanced properly should be 90*.... Our V6 'should' be 60* but that wouldn't be any fun now would it.

My diagram of the 4.0L NS looks to be 90 degrees

3800'* are 90, as far as I can remember.

i'm pretty sure 3900 is chevy. No buick will need a 3.9L 60* DOHC V6.

I think abuot it this way. 360* (one revolution) divided by 4=90. So for a v8/I-4 that'* fine.

360/6=60*.

We're off so we have much more balancing.

regarding the low end torque, arnt most 60* engines OHC?

All GM 60* engines I know of up to this point are OHV only.

Yes, 3100,3400,and 3800 are all OHV. The new 3500, or is it 3.5, that is going in the new G6 is supposed to be a DOHC I believe though.

Older DOHC in the cutlass supreme were DOHC.
