Default Whats your view of Engine covers?

Anyone have any input or advice on whether or not there is a difference with the engine covering the series II 3800 on the 2000 SSEi? Some say it blocks in heat, others tell me it makes no difference. Some have moded this with mesh. Has anyone noticed a difference? I like the looks of the shield but if it hampers performance then I'd take that over looks. Especially since I'll be installing my CAI this weekend.

Get the best of both worlds. Looks are better meshed, and it'll breathe nearly as well as if it wasn't there.

For performance, remove it. Over 80 degree difference of the blower with the cover on.

If you look under the series II supercharged cover, you will see that its padded under there so theres alot of warmth with that thing on. Take it off, I did

Cut the holes out, glue the wire pieces in from the back side using silicone RTV.
