OK....what was your average gas mileage before you used New Formula Shell and what are you getting now?

Also, try switching back to your old gas for a week or so and see if there really is a difference.

There has been some weird things going on with shell where I live. Like every other day when they do their price changes, for some reason the 93 octane is the same price as the 87 octane. YEA!!!!!! NOT!!!!! so it thought I was getting a good deal because I was saving $.20 a gallon on the 93, but I think I got about the worse gas milage I have gotten in a long time. It was around 16mpg which is horable I didn't change my driving habits or anything. I usually get 19 or 20 around town with 87. It wasn't just one of the shells it was all of them in the area, and I see the price messed up quite often. I think they are getting some bad gas or something and are trying to get rid of it quick. I am back to Phillips 66 or Citgo. As for some other info. Before I filled up with the 93 octane shell gas I had ran 3 tanks of Phillips 66 93 octane so it wasn't like I was just jumping around from 87 to 93. The PCM should have had plenty of time to make the changes.

I would like to try out the new Shell gas if we had a shell gas station where I live. None around this area.

I thought I read something about Shell putting something in their gas that was bad. I don't remember any specifics other than Shell was giving money back to customers that had used it. Anyone know what I'm refering to here?

Well, there is no study on phychological perception on better gas for NA cars. We may want to think our cars run better on higher octane gas...when maybe they don't. To be quite honest, my car HATES 85/87 (this chit is swamp water to my car), it drinks 91/93 like no tomorrow...so 89 it is....

I'm sure higher octane results in a better running engine...thats just logical :?
