94SSEi Opportunity Knocks
I have the opportunity to buy for 7-8 hundred bucks, a 94 SSEi with minor body dings and some type of tranny problem. My friend owns a used car lot and came across it during an auction. What do you guys think? And what things do you suggest I look for? Will parts from my wrecked 92 se come in handy? I usually search the post before I ask but I don't want him to sell it and he'* getting plenty of offers. Any info or links to topics will be greatly appreciated.

Might be a good opportunity... just watch out for things unseen. Opportunity knocked for me after i bought my car... from the inside of the bottom end of the engine. If you were closer i'd be interested in the engine. good luck with that.

So in you guys opinion would this be worth the trouble or am I throwing good money after bad. I know that it is hard to give a definite answer just looking for some general feeling. I have bought plenty of used cars so I kinda just want to know if its worth any money at all.

I'd say get it, if nothing else you can fix up the car and make some money. Many parts between the different transmissions are the same, Dr. Jay knows the specifics. Your 92 tranny will bolt up, but it'* not as strong, and the gear ratio is off slightly.

$700. How many miles? I'd go for it. What have you got to lose for only $700. I paid $900 for a Dodge Dynasty 3 years ago that ended up in the dump 1 month later. 3800 powered cars last forever, so I don't think that car will go to the dump.
