new exhast pipe
 

i am really getting tired of this. it seems that every auto parts store i go to tells me that the replacement exhast pipe for my Bonne doesnt come with a resonantor in it. they always say that it show on the computer to be just the pipe. my question is, is this true that there isnt one in it or is there really one installed in the pipe like its supposed to be and it's just not showing up?

why do you need a new exhaust system? is it rusted out? you are surely not outflowing it.

No, there is not a resonator.

The first year for that was 1994.

yea its rusted to a certain point but no holes in it. im sayin that because with the aftermarket muffler that was put on it, its still louder than other Bonnes i see on the road. is it because of the genaric(probably not spelled right) muffler? or did the muffler that came from the factory have a resonator built in it because i've heard of cars that have that. Oh and since the 93s dont have 1 on them, would the 94 exhast you spoke of fit on for a 93 since most he part from 93-95 i heard were interchangable

The exhaust piping would definitely fit if you'd like to do the swap. However, this rust you mention, if you have no exhaust leak, is just surface rust. Because your pipes are just steel, they'll always develop rust, and yet it will not do anything to the actual piping. Just looks. If you have a solid exhaust setup, you don't need to change the pipes. Now, if you're showing off your car's underside, I guess that's fair. My favorite outlandishly chromed exhaust piping is Borla.

thats what im looking on doing eventually. but the main reason im doing it is because of the cops around here. for some reason, they "claim" that it's too loud. but not really to me. they want things to be silent. But hopefully with the 94's exhast w/resonator, it'll quiet it down so the the "Flashing Lights" wont bother me but still keep the growl that i love. I'm praying that the auto shop wont have anybody in there this weekend

Are you actually planning on totally replacing your exhaust piping with a 94's?

i was recently contimplating changing the entire exhaust as well, but sir wren helped me realize what i really knew. the factory exhaust is stainless steel.




which is why i am just adding a high-flow cat, magnaflow muffler, and a resonator to tone it down a little to avoid the "ricer" type sound.

cuz most shops will replace with "alumanized" steel, which will rust out faster than ur 15 yr old ss. and if they will do ss, it will cost ya.

hmmmmm. i see what your saying. there was more resaons why i was going to replace it, i only mentioned a few. 1 of the other reasons it needs to be replaced is because the part of the pipe that connects to the muffler is really short. it maybe extends a good 2-2.5in. past the last bend. if that long. the person that had it before me, i dont know what she did to it. but if it wasnt so short i would have threw a cherrybomb glasspack on there to try and tone it down. but because of that, im thinking why add extensions to the pipe and then it isnt holding that well instead of just buying the new pipe and just slip the muffler on. i dont want to be riding down the street, hit a bump and the muffler and tailpipe come flying off. i want everything to be as secure as possible you know?

As already mentioned Radomir, our OEM exhaust is mandrel bent STAINLESS steel. It will surface rust to a point, and cause no issues. This is why we advocate component replacement, but rarely pipe replacement.
