Default 3900 V6 W/ Flex Fuel and AFM

Does anyone know anything about this motor? looking at a new car with it in it. Not sure how closely it resembles the 3800 but i sure didn't like the look of the 3500 motor i saw in another trim level of it.

It has absolutely nothing in common with the 3800, it is the replacement for the l67. It'* actually based on the 31 3400 motors from back in the day. The 3900 features Continuously Variable Valve Timing, Variable Intake Timing, Displacement on Demand, and a handful of other goodies. It makes the same horsepower as the 2nd Gen L67s but it does it naturally aspirated. On top of that it makes 90% of that power from 1500 to 5500 rpms, giving it the widest torque curve of any GM V6. It is my favorite motor by far and the most dependable V6 you can buy.

It looks like it'* well optioned. But if I had a choice (and no kids) I would get a G6 GTP with the 6spd and the 3900.

I had the 3900 in my Buick LaCrosse. Nothing but great things to say about it. Aggressive torque for a n/a V6. Never a problem with it. Great mileage.

If you want to see what it is worth at auction and base your offer on it do a search for Germain BMW in Naples, FL and then do a Black Book appraisel. This will show you what a dealer will pay for a car at auction, and IMHO you should be paying from 1-2k above Black Book value. My analysis of KBB is it is a tool to trick consumers into paying more for a vehicle- the prices in KBB are fantasy, not real world.

It is good, just thought I would share that resource. I watched for a few months all the cars the sold and got bids and didn't sell on Ebay, Craigslist, etc and discovered how fantasyland KBB is.
