hey all. first id like to say, im well aware of the fact that its not the smartest decision to go cheap when it comes to projectors. but at the end of the day, im a) not the smartest person, and b) i dont have 100'* to spend on a luxury.

now that that is out of the way, let me walk you guys through what i want to do. this is just a loose idea, so suggestions are welcome.

here in the past week or so, ive noticed my driver side hid is turning yellow. i suspect the xenon has leaked or is leaking out. as a result, im not getting pulled over because you can see the light is on, but it looks dorky and there is almost no road output. instead of getting another set of oncoming lane blinders for the curvy hilly Tennessee roads, im thinking projectors because of the cutoff.

my main problem is justifying the money involved for a good set of projectors. im looking to spend around 50-60 dollars. (if anyone knows a good supplier for that price lemmie know)

angel eyes are a maybe. i cant decide if id like them or not on my car.
i dont think fitment will be too much of an issue with my car, actually if it comes with a round bezel i think they would look almost like they came stock because the actual low beams are in a circular housing.

as you can tell by this post, i really dont know what the hell i want given my budget issues. feel free to chime in and let me know what you guys think the best route would be short of going with stock bulbs. there'* just too many curves and hills and not enough streetlights for normal halogens with this city boy behind the wheel.

I don't think you can do it for under $100 unless you can find a car with projectors at a JY and get them for cheap.

Don't go cheap, especially if you'll be putting in HID bulbs. Save until you have the money to do it right. Until then, replace you HID bulbs with halogens and wait.

you could always find a 95 Acura Integra and take it'* low beam projectors and mold them into your stock headlamps

problem with the stock halogens is i have night blindness. the contrast helps alot to see at night. personally i think the blue lights in a stock housing on my car look kinda wonky but they help so much i use em anyways. so whether or not i use hids again isnt a question, i just figured id do the rest of the world a favor and get projectors lol

Is it just a bulb that'* bad, or the ballast too? if that'* all it is, I'd say fack it, buy some cheap hid bulbs on ebay, and save up some money for a proper retrofit with quality projectors.

thats the plan as of now. what sucks *** though is im going to bama friday night and coming back sunday night to get laurens car (clutches were toasted and the valve body was filled with clutch goop. all cause honda used crappy valve body seals on these things) so im trying to think of a temp fix. as of now the left light puts out less light than a halogen, but the right lights up the road more than 2 halogens. so im at a loss lol.

on the longer term project, anyone know of some american cars that had projector hids? id love to be able to avoid this again and just be able to walk into a parts store for a bulb.

problem with the import cars is the junkyards have next to no imports here.

Some of the older caddys (can't remember off hand which one) and the Chevy Optra 5 had them too.

i was thinking the seville had em. they were halogens i think though. im wanting to say the eldorado did but i think they were halogens too. maybe ill just get those and get some poser bulbs that have the blue gel on them. its not so much the light output i need as it is the contrast i need. when every light is the same color its a bitch to focus on my lane. (think looking into the light at the optometrist)
