Need info, what GM cars/years had the FE2 swaybars?
 

I'm going to a junk yard tomorrow to try to find a set of FE2 front and rear sways for my car (97SE). I called them and explained that anything from a 92 to 99 Bonnie, Olds Delta 88, and Park Avenue might have the thicker FE2 bars. I have a measuring caliper to check for 32mm front and 21mm rear bars. They said they have some LeSabres, and invited me to come out and check them.

My questions: I know some of the LeSabres are H-bodies, but aren't some of the newer ones different? What year LeSabres have interchangeable swaybars with our cars? And definitely, what years of what GM cars have the same swaybars as our bonnies? Don't worry, I'll bring my measuring caliper to make sure I only get FE2 sways, if I can find any. I just want to know what cars I should check for possible FE2's. Do we have a definitive list, and if not, can we make one?

90(i think) 91-99 H bodies will work.....and you dont have to measure the bars...check the RPO for the FE2....and also be sure to check for the F41 suspension

and be sure to grab the centerlinks too...you will need them

I'll check the RPO codes if they're still with the car. I've been to this yard and sometimes there's not much left of a car, so there's no way to get any RPO codes at all. And yes, I'll get the centerlinks for the rear bar.

But are there any Cadillacs or Chevys that have the same sway bars, and are there any LeSabres that aren't H-bodies?

Well I'd still measure even if it's in the RPO code becasue the bars may have been switched out at some point.

Caddy? No.

Chevy? No.

LeSabre? No. Didn't have the option for FE2 or F41 from 92-99.

You pretty much are limited to the Bonneville and maybe the PA. And look for that FE2 or F41 code. Same bars. FE1 is what you have.

Stay away from 91. Even if it had the F41 or FE2, there was an OEM option for a tubular (hollow) bar around for awhile up until 1992. Besides, you don't want an old rusty bar.

Look for an SSE or SSEi primarily (or a 95, 96, 97 SCSLE) and CHECK THE RPO. Don't assume. Many SSE's even had the FE1, and only a few of the SE/SLE's had FE2.

Ah, that's what I needed to know. So I'd be wasting my time checking LeSabres. So I need to stick with Bonnevilles, Delta 88s, and Park Avenues.
(And as we know, many of those will have FE1 and not FE2.)

Not 88's. NinetyEights, and Park Avenues. The Larger C body had the same bar geometry and may be more likely to get the heavier FE2 bars.

Are you sure on that, about the Ninety Eight?
My Helm manauls for 1997 H body say:
"Bonneville, Eighty-Eight, Eighty-Eight LS, Regency, LeSabre"
