Smoked a Taurus
I know this does not sound like much, but it was a SHO in the newer bodystyle. I started and off the line, I had about a car length on him (torque stinks on SHO'*). We kept going and by the time I hit 60, he had gained on me, but I was still about half a carlength in front of him (thats quite a bit, as the Bonnie is a big car).

Thanks, I was very much thinking of getting one, but after a test-drive, the SHO was a very nice sedan, and thats it. My SE felt much better off the line, and up till about 40 mph.

Getting Yamaha Motors to design and engineer the SHO engine was the smartest move Ford ever made. I'm sure a modded SHO is dirty fast. It is a V8 in there is it not? :?
Now if only Yamaha music would get into the car audio market...then we'd be laughing

the V6 SHO'* are much faster. THey are a 3.0 liter (V6) and the V8'* are 96+ and a 3.4 made by Kawasaki.
The 3.0 SHO'* were fast, they are just as fast, or slightly faster than a stock GTP or Regal GS!

I believe the newer Taurus' have the smallest v8 in existence. It is a 3.4 liter. Barely making 235 hp. At the same time, the torque output is 230. This is atrocious for a v8!!! Thats what you get from a Yamaha engine. The only thing thats good about it, is that its a more durable engine, than some of the previous ones.
