My "93" SSEi Help
I just got a 1993 Bonneville SSEi. I love her, makes me not miss my 95 Crown Vic Interceptor so much. I have a few questions.
I have already been informed moving to gatorback belts would be nice, did that on the Vic.
What I am looking for, is suggestions on upgrades. I am not looking for anything fancy. Just some projects that can be done over the weekend & don't cost a ton of money.
I would love to be able to find a nice balance between power & mpg. I am currently getting 26mpg in town (seafoam rocks.) The MPG is not that important, this is my, "I want to get away from the kids as fast as possible" car. LoL. I do live in the midwest with lots of snow, so any kind of upgrade that will help deal with that issue would be nice.
This is also my first front wheel drive vehicle as well. As well as my first GM, since my old Trans AM. (God i miss her, lol)

gattorback belts(gator back belts just make it so you dont have to replace them as often and the grip real nice)
cold air intake or fender well intake
less restrictive exhaust
a diffrent accumulator in the trans for a quicker shift
and if you wanna go further you can do rockers valve springs porting stuff like that

Thanks SSEi, that si exaclty what I was looking for.
How hard is the fender well intake to do, and what are the benefits? Any suggestions on brand and such.
Also, as far as the exhaust, what would everyone recomend? I do love a mean sounding car, lol. If that helps.
Also, As i just got this car about 2 months ago, and taken a couple trips, I did seafoam it about 250miles ago. This means full tune up time. What is recomended for Oil/Sparkplugs/Wires.
The car has 170k miles on it, mostly highway, as I know the previous owner.
I wish I had more experiance with these cars, feel so stupid with questions like these.

just plain ole acdelco(stock) plugs and wires will do just fine and really any brand oil is fine just stick to the reccomendation for weight of oil i wouldnt run a synthetic as with ''older engines'' it can slip past worn seals and what not so just a normal conventional will do just fine you can do a high mileage formula that is a little better and as for the FWI its not very hard just need the tubing and filter and a good place to put it like in the fender or behind the headlight and a k&n or spectere just a performance filter will do

Perfect, Oil was my main concern, as I have seen synthetics save an engine or kill it. I love to know which is the safe way to go, appreciate that tidbit of information.
We dont have much here where I live as far as parts store, they all suck. Any suggestions on an online store that is trustworthy? For the FWI and such?

well i am not sure on a site for an fwi but i know spectre makes tubing and filters check out autozone.com they can ship stuff right to you and rockauto.com

This might be a stupid question, as I am an electrician, but never seen this on a car so meh.
Is it possible to change the color of the HUD. I am color blind, and assuming it is green, since I dont see it, LoL.

Dont froget u can gain up to 20hp by changing the SC pulley to a smaller size. If u change intake, exhaust, ect.. U should be able to change from the stock 3.8 to a 3.5
