My motor ticks on take off and hard acceloration
 

Hate to say it, but I had to do it. I used 87 and 89. PLEASE DON'T CURSE ME OUT! I know I was going to suffer some consequences down the line but I havent been working a whole lot either. I needed to fill up my tank from E or just have a half a tank. The gas prices in Chicago is crazy. $2.19 per gallon for 93. If I did continue with 93, I know I wouldn;t have the knock but at the same time I needed more that just a 1/4 tank. I did this like 3 times. Now, is there anyway that I can get the knocking to stop? I won't do this ever again.

What is that, how much, and what does it do?

Toulene is a lot like gas, and it has a VERY high octane rating for burning. I can't find it this second, but if i do i'll post it here. He had a couple pages that showed how it worked. It's like $5-$10 for it at a paint store etc.

Its at a paint store? Is this stuff safe for gasoline engines?

Does anyone else know how to rectify this problem?

just a thot on yur pink/knocking.......perhaps its not the fuel itself but maybe the ignition timing. since it has a timing chain(chains do stretch) you may consider changing it. or perhaps its a valve sticking as well. the coil packs are known to go tool. they arent cheap but these are things to consider other than actually taking it to dealer mechanic or priv. one. when was the last time you changed yur plug wires? a simple small crack on them will decrease yur mileage or cause yur problem.

why don't you just use up the rest of the gas in the tank( wait till it has only about 1/4 or less ) then fill it up with the good stuff and it should probably sound better shortly after that.

or maybe just try soem of the octane boost that you can get from the auto parts stores.

My parents had an old minivan ( rears back) and it was showing it's age. It started nocking on not just hard acceleration. They just upped to a better grade gas and it went away.

So before putting anything else than gas or octane boost just ride it out and fill it up with good stuff.
