My friends 94 SSE gas hand doesn't work.
 

The gas hand stays on full but doesn't work. Is this a simple repair?

I guess this isn't a common failure.

check underneith the car by the gas tank. You can find the wires for the sending unit coming from the top of the gas tank. If the wires are disconnected, the gas gauge will read full. I can't remember if there's full resistance it reads full, or if there's none.. I just know that if you disconnect the wires from the sending unit it will ready full. ;)
