General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

For those that like to shop at AutoZone and have lifetime or limited warranties to help each other out for those that have the same year car and dont have the money to buy parts to share info as much as pming you with your phone number and thats it. Like say for instance jwikoff99 needed something but his money is tight and he explained the parts he needed, he can take his old parts off, pm me for my phone number and name and thats it. He take the old part to the store, give them my number and the old parts and he get new parts and vice versa. I had a 93 SSE SC and its still in the system. If I had a limited warranty, it also help me because it resets. I thought maybe it was a good idea.

Didn't I just agree to buy a part off you?

Interesting idea.

Still sounds like theft to me...not sure why? I can be pretty crooked...but this is clearly not right.

its not theft at all. all you have to do is exchange the info with teh person of the same year car you have and tere number, give it to autozone with the old parts you have and thats it. you get your new parts.

I understand what you're suggesting. I don't necessarily agree with it though.

Utilizing that warranty more than it was designed to be used simply drives up the prices for us honest folks.
