WOW never thought id see more talk about aurora'* on a bonneville board then anywere else! they took our gmforums away :(.

if he'* looking for a luxury highrevving car, have him take a look at the sevilles too, 96'* and 97'* can be had pretty cheap, the 98'* are $$$$ (new style). stock they'll match a 5speed sho, and the intake and exhaust are super restrictive just like a aurora, they seem to run around 14.3-14.4 with intake and exhaust and in tune!

i can tell you i raced a 93-95 MTX sho when my 95 autobahn was bone stock, and got beat pretty bad from a role. but i just bought the car had bad plugs, dirty tb, i coulda held on a little better, but it was definatly a faster car. now that my cars in tune, catback exhaust (2.5" dynomax w/highflow cat), modded K&N intake, id probably hold up a little better, probably match a auto.

89bonnie, one thing you should check, take off you TB and clean that and the inake of all the carbon crap built up in there. i did it and you'd be amazed how much the throttle response improves, and the top end pull, 65mph kickdown is pretty wicked, same with the 30mph. it was pretty bad how much crap was in there, yours is probably the same too.

btw 89, your car shifts at 5k at wot? or was it 5.5? mine shifts at 6k, i can make it do 6.1/6.2 for a 1-2 shift (leave the shifter in 2 or 1 (it will automaticly shift won't over rev) and it also increases the transmission line pressure, yep you can bark the tires on the 1-2 shift

I tend to baby the car...and I leave the power button off, and drive in OD or 3. 5000-5500 RPM shifting when I punch it.

Performance shift (atleast on bonnies) is actually kinda weird in how it works. It'* only on */Ced cars, but when it'* engaged/turned on, it performs the same way a N/A tranny works. If performance shift is disabled it'* actually slowing down/softening the tranny. Now this autobahn packaged torpedo is just weird...
