Default My Bonnie'* Growing Up!

(You will see the point of that title at the end of this post...)

Anyways, I've been doing a bunch of work on some little things that have been bugging me. First up: my broken power antenna. I never use the radio anyways, so I just unbolted it from the motor and pushed it in. All better.

While I was digging around in the trunk, I found this thing in the area near the antenna. looks like an ignition wire to me. Anyone know what this is?

Next, I took the rear interior out to clean it (I must thank Dan for his write-up on this, I wouldn't have figured it out myself without breaking something). I also went ahead and used some rubber undercoating in the seat deck, just in case. The bubble-looking things are just from the rubber, not corrosion from rust.

Now, on to the thread'* title. My Bonneville has crossed over 135,000 miles. I know, a lot of people have many more but it'* special to me. Pics for proof of course.

I figure Bonnie is old enough for a bra now...
There'* been a white 97 SE sitting outside the local trans shop with a bra on it. I went over there with $40 in hand to ask if I could have it. The guy gave it to me for a total of $0.00. Gotta love free stuff.
So here'* how it looks on my car, please feel free to share your opinions. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to leave it on or not.

Thanks for reading.

I do believe that is the drain for the antenna.

Looks good.

Well, since you are indecisive, IMO, I strongly dislike bras. I think that if a car'* paint still shines, and there are no dents, or anything, that a bra kinda' distracts me from the rest of the car, plus it stands out like a sore thumb. Just my view. Other than that, congrats on your Bonnie growing up! P.*., I have no idea what that wire is.

The biggest problem with the bras is dirt gets under it and it will rub the clear coat off. After a short time the cars finish will be very different from where the bra is and where it isn't. You may want to get a real good coat of wax under there and be sure to keep it cleaned.

That is one of the reasons why I'm against leaving it on all the time. I think I'll probably just save it for longer trips.

Not a fan of bra'*. Like Dan says, it wears on the car under it. If you live in a rural area with gravel roads, then maybe, but I say take it off and save a slush fund to have your hood touched up if it gets really dinged up..

I like the look of it with the bra on but as mentioned above it will wear your paint over time

I had a bra on my '98 SE for about 2 years, and I never noticed said scratching or wearing of the colors. But I only took the hood piece off to clean it. I certainly liked the look, and I hope you do too. Only problem... Do I get one for my '02?

Yup..drain tube.

Use the bra for trips and highway driving. Clean it often to keep any dirt out from under.
