Leaky CCR?
One of our Gearheads needs some help with this nasty problem:
Anyone care to help a Boosty out?

Does the CCR rely on Air to adjust or is it entirely different? I also thought Bill replaced his without the CCR?
I guess I need to learn since I have it in my car :?

my understanding of CCR is electroniclly controlled oil viscosity. this changes the damping factor of the strut. If you are leaking strut oil, the strut is shot ( or close to being shot)

The CCR system only controls a valve......electronically. Struts can leak, but Boosty was talking about ELC and just used the wrong terminology since he wasn't fully caffiene-soaked.
Travis'* 65 is a rare case. Just like th e handful of 4T60'* we've had go over 300,000 miles. Factory freak.

Ohhh okay so that pretty much cleared up my confusion as to why Bill was posting about somehting he no longer had as an option on his car 
Bill time to get some soapy water on those little air bags in the rear to see where its coming from. I was going to say check the air lines going from the pump to the rear, but I dont think those would make the ELC leak.
Is there a diaphram valve at the strut that could go bad causing it to slowly leak?
I dont know im just tossing out suggestions, hoping to learn a little on the way as well.

My understanding from a factory trained technician is that the grease in the strut changes properies when electrically charged...nothing to do with valving. I have not cut a CCR strut apart to verify though. I doubt many have.
Travis'* car isn't a freak...he doesn't treat it like I do my own. Mine'* probably more of a freak...
The better question might be..why did an Admin put such a lounge topic in Gen Chat? Where'* the Mod to clean up after the Admin? ...lol
