Well my dad would like me to do a tune up on his car but the thing is, is that it has 195,000 miles on it, he bought it when it had 107,000 on and he has never changed the plugs or wires. He'* kept up on the fluid changes, i would just like to know what else would be a good idea to replace while im in there?

On any car, it'* helpful to change the fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires, ignition coils or distributor, and then clean the throttle body and possibly intake manifold if you can get to it. Run Seafoam through the vacuum lines, put some in the gas tank, and put some in the oil. Please change your oil within about 100 miles of driving with that. If the avoidance of a plug change has done anything to the fuel system, it hasn't allowed a clean burn. You might have a pretty pooped out catalytic converter. My mom'* Sable had two totally clogged cats, but that'* extremely rare.

Lets hold off on the advice until we find out what car this is, and then move the topic to the proper section if necessary.

Touche! however, if the lower intake manifold has not been changed, time to do it as well, that is a DEX-Cool system if I am not mistaken, and GM is under fire from a few states sueing them over it. See Wilwren'* topics on this under the maintence section. VERY informative!!! Most of the other guys will tell you this same thing.
Good luck!

What intake manifold was used? If it was GM, change it now before you lose your motor again.

EK98'* was changed with a GM molded in 2002, and it was ready to fail when I replaced it.

Read Techinfo. It'll scare you.

You just ain't whistling Dixie. I am glad I have a '94, but I know they have issues all thier own too...

Bill, your information, along with the tech info from many others have helped me a ton with understanding my Bonnie. Until recently, mostly been a Ford guy...I can't thank you enough.

Good luck!
