Default Spark Advance?

Is this the same as KR?

I had a Snap ON scanner plugged into the car tonight and it showed me 21° of Spark Advance

Is this right? Car was at running temp, in park and no codes

That'* NORMAL for idle. Not good or bad. Timing advance doesn't mean much for power at idle.

KR, when it happens, will subtract from whatever advance the pcm is trying to use.

When your knock sensors 'hear' (they're acoustic sensors) knock, they retard your timing to prevent more knock from happening. You lose power with retarded timing.

This scanner did not show a KR reading or i was not looking in the right spot :?

Are the sensors replaceable / easy to get to?
