Default mouse motor Literally!

Ok, not sure where to post this but, my 1994 SSE litterally has a mouse motor! No kidding!

Ok, so I throw a rod, yada yada, new crate motor, yada yada, here'* the punch line. While they are putting the pieces back together, what do they find? ok, here it is,...a nest of mice in my wiring harness! Little basterds ate the wire to my heater, radio, and something they don't know yet! three wires. Guess that'* what I get for living out in the boonies, in the middle of cornfields, and letting my Bonny set for 3 months before I get her fixed! Geez looweez! They say it'* not a big deal,..but MICE! What do I do put DECON on my fire wall?

I found mouse evidence (hazelnut shells) on the base of the lower intake on a friend'* BRAND SPANKING NEW 2500 Silverado (8 liter, allison tranny). Good thing he'* got a warranty.

Do GM warranties cover varmint damage?

Wow, I've never heard of such a thing. I mean I guess it does make sence they would find a cozy place like a wire harness of a Bonny to stay warm and raise a family,..but MINE! Ain't there some other freaking car in the area they can crawl into!

Seriously, I've never heard of mice in cars, but I guess it does make since. I know one thing I will definatly,...... well actually How would u know if u did have mice?

I have pet mice. Mice in general don't bother me. I've even caught wild mice by hand. Mice sneaking up and ambushing my ***, tho, is a different story!!

Your story brings back some bad memories. When I was in school, I worked at a GM dealer. One day a lady brought her Buick LeSabre in complaining of electrical problems and a bad smell. It turned out that mice had eaten through some wires in the engine compartment. The worst thing was that there were dead mice everywhere inside the car, under the back seat and in the trunk by the spare tire. It wasn't just a family of mice, it was like a whole community. The car became know as as the "mouse car" and no mechanic ever wanted to go near it again.

The above story is just nasty I can't imagine being a mechanic and having to deal with that....."Well ma'am, we've removed about 25 dead mice from your vehicle so far..."

A friend of mine had a turbo cougar and lived in the city. He started the car one day and apparantly a cat had crawled into the engine bay when he parked it the night before and was keeping warm from the engine heat. It wasnt a pretty sight as it got caught in the belts. Worse part was the belts shredded and he couldnt drive it to anyplace to hose it down. He had to clean it all by hand.
