Default My newly purchased 99 so far...

Well I knew I wanted a another Bonneville after the old one died, so I found a 99 SE and got it for $2800, with 124K on in. It'* BARE, about as base as it gets, also an ex-rental car (didn't have the luxury of knowing that when I bought it...) but it was the only Bonne that I could afford. There didn't APPEAR to be too much wrong with it, it drove fine...

But so much crap has shown up, I just don't even know if it'* worth it to keep on fixing it.
Already done:

Wheel cylinders leaking, replaced.
Brakes worn to nothing, replaced
Wheel hub assembly replaced
Rear tires replaced
Coolant swap
Fluids flushed (tranny fluid BROWN)

That'* all I thought was wrong until...

A week after I got it, decided to quit starting. Took a new cam sensor, crank sensor, coil pack, starter to get it to run
Got an engine light and- the cat is clogged, bad 02 sensor, bad t-stat.
Tranny recently started shifting rough, has had a few bad slips
Surely the UIM and LIM gaskets need replacing

Am I just a fool to keep fixing it, or is this a normal amount of problems? I wish I was better with cars, I probably would have been able to see this stuff before I bought it
:(

Where did you buy this car? Can you talk to the person, or place, you bought it from? I realize you prob bought it as is but dang, that is a lot to do on a car that cost that much when you don't have money. IMO

Rach...

It doesn't take coil packs, crank sensor and a cam sensor to get the car running. Most likely it was only one of those parts. I'd question the place you are bringing it for work.

Well, they just tried one thing after the next until it started, only charged me for the crank sensor, cause they were positive that was it.
