Wow. OK, let me get a list of misc questions together. I'll be looking for some info pertaining to my swap.
Thanks. |
When I hung out with Randy this weekend, everytime he talked about his manuals he started to look like Foamy on a RANT

Here's the first of several questions I have: (97 L67 VIN 1)
My 97 service manual indicates that the fuel sending unit has an output range of 40 to 250 ohms. This output goes into the PCM and there is an output to the fuel gauge. Although it does not specifically state the range of the PCM output/gauge input, it describes in the gauge testing procedures to test with 0 ohms empty and 90 ohms full. This doesn't make sense as the 97 cluster is in my 93 which has a sending unit range of 0 to 90 ohms but the fuel gauge never goes over 1/4 tank. I'd like to know what Mitchell says the PCM fuel level output/fuel gauge input range is in ohms to confirm that those that wrote this book were on crack. Thanks |
mitcell also says 0 at empty 90 at full.

Thank you for looking that up.
I wonder why the 97 cluster doesn't indicate the right fuel level then. Time to break out the resistors for testing. |
If you need ANY resistors see your good and local buddy Bill he's got nearly anything you could ever imagine
