So I have a 1994 pontiac bonneville SSEI. Its got about 85,000 miles on it and has had as regular maintenance as I've been able to afford. However there are a few things wrong with it. The story is I've just gotten to my first permanent duty station in the US and haven't driven the car in nearly a year. Its just recently started to give me various problems, radiator hose fittings coming out, ecm monitors being replaced, Power steering is half broken, ever since a terrible snow storm a few years back the power steering only works when I'm accelerating or already going about 10mph+, The material on the inside roof is coming unglued, various broken plastic bits here and there, and another problem or 2 I'll update with later. just in the past month or 2 I've invested an additional 1000 dollars into it. And the 'engine maintenance soon' Light is -still- coming on. However the car has had a great maintenance record (until I bought it and stopped updating the log :/, Nothing is leaking, no rips or tears in the leather, its a very clean car, no spilled drinks, crumbs, no cracks in the windshield(however a few nicks). It seems to be running fine now, though the gas mileage sucks, its fun to drive though! And the news is I'm going on a remote tour this November for an entire year, I'm married and don't have children and my wife also has a job. So while away I'm putting saving up for a new car I think. And after that I'm going for a 4 year tour in Germany. I -really- love this car and it doesn't have really that many miles on it, as much as I'd like to avoid it, I might be better off selling the car off even though the KBB on it is about a 1000 dollars. I'm also making payments on my wife'* new car so its not like we're without a reliable car at all times. My question for anyone reading is, what would you do in my situation? Some options I've come up with is:

1. Keep the car -and- get a new one that is more reliable and better suited for Germany.
a. As a project car (I'm planning on getting a mechanical engineering degree, plus many auto maintenance courses)
b. Maybe a track car?
c. I really would love to make this car last as long as possible, but I don't have a dedicated place to keep it, (though my parents wouldn't have a problem keeping it on their property with them)

2. Sell it outright and move on.
3. Try and part it out
4. Sell it to close family so maybe I can get it back some day
5. Forget buying a new car and just try to make this one keep working even though sharing a car with someone else who works full time is annoying. Which I imagine would happen a lot at this current rate)
6. Sell it to someone on the forums who I know would make better use of it than I could/ appreciate it more?
7. Any other suggestions would be great

If its green with a tan gut sell it to me!!! lol..I would fix it there gonna be getting harder to find soon they rust so if the body is clean put the elbow grease and of course $$ into it if funds allow

While it probably needs just a bit of TLC, if you don't plan on diriving it for 4 years...the parts will be harder to come by. With it'* age, things are already becoming a bit of a pain. You and the wife don't need it...I say sell and be out from under it.

i am usually all for fixing cars but you fix it just to let it sit some more, sitting kills cars. brakes, rubber seals in everything, batteries, the frame rots. I would sell it to someone who might get some type of enjoyment out of it. if you still want it in when you come back you can find another one, im sure it wont be that hard.

I didnt mean that color combo i meant bonnevilles in general in the next few year people are gonna hold onto the nice/clean ones
