the 350 has a cable operated kickdown where the 400 has a wot switch switch can be on carb or under petal

not sure about the fly wheel

the 400 i got was bolt in, measure the over all length and if they are close enough it probably wont be a problem,they had different tail lengths. if the end is different you can have a driveshaft shop put a 400 end on your 350 shaft.

as far as I can tell off the old truck ... the 350 switch is on the carb & the 400 is under the pedal ...

over all length looks like it will all fit ... exept for the end on the drive shaft ...

if it would just quit raining here ... then I can crawl back under them darn trucks ...

I understand the difference in cable
350 = TV ( Torque Varience ... to throttle body )
400 = Switch ... to Pedal ...
... got the 400 bolted in ... ' only one smashed finger '

now cuz of the dual exhaust pipes the rear support cross member wont bolt back in ... the wholes are there ... but the pipes are in the way ...

LOL ... AAARRRGGG !!!

thats why you got 9 extra, lol

your lucky your working on a pickup, i dont have room for exhaust on my firebird, ive been running open headers because i ran the pipes under the crossmember and it flattened them. im going to have to make a 400 conversion crossmember with humps for the pipes.

got the 400 trans in place ... starter & all the other bits ...
... ended up flex pipe for the exhaust ...

kick down should be easy enough ...

drive shaft ... well now ...
know I will have to change the end ... ALTA Driveline ... said he wants $600 ...
( I think he missunderstood me on the phone ... )

still my tape measure says its 2" short ...
will the new knuckle make up the distance ???

figure its a short tail shaft on the 400 ...

no rain & no time ... means ... no truck ... lol

dont know that much about the truck drive shaft i had mine converted to a slip yoke when it was at the rebuilder, then had a big truck place make me a custom drive shaft. i gave them my old one and a th400 yoke and the right measurements. i want to say it was under 200.

looked into that ...
got quoted over $600

figure I need a 72" shaft
around here its the biggest ...

to change the tail of the th400
I might as well pull it out again & rebuild the whole darn thing ...

will have to use the one out of the 3/4 tonne & see about welding in the
cross member for the steady berring ... its a two piece shaft ...

damb city bylaws cant run grinders at 2:00 AM ...
I guess neighbors sleep at that time ...
