Default lowering GXP

i would LOVE to lower my GXP.. theres nothin for it out there!!

so two questions
1. i know GXPs have lots of STS parts in common, any idea if the front/rear springs/struts are the same?
2. how deep in hell would god throw me if i "think" of cutting my springs? actually itll be more like a spare set that i would cut

any suggestions?

Cutting springs obviously isn't the right way to do it, but it could most certainly be a last resort of you cant find anything else. If you do cut them, use a hacksaw, a torch or a die-grinder will heat the metal and make it weak.

The STS uses a VARIABLE TIME DAMPING CHASSIS(F55). Whether the spring would fit??
I know the strut assembly for it runs $500. I noticed a non electronic strut replacement that fits the STS (Monroe 716884) is one number from a GXP (Monroe 716885) I also dont know that the STS spring would really lower you much if any. There was some "talk" about it in the old club, and all it was, was talk. I had airstruts made for my GXP. $1400. Airbags were in the back. The airstruts only lasted 2 years. Jaw breakiing ride and the strut seals blew from riding so low. They bottomed out alot. Cutting a spring is about the only for sure, economical way to go. And I'm sure its going to wear the struts prematurely. If done, you could shorten the ride height rod in the rear to bring it even. I think somebody found a place that sold custom springs. (95naSTA?)

Talk to custom spring specialties they can take your stock springs specs and make lowering springs so you can hopefully maintain a similar to stock ride quality. I told them the type of car and what suspension I have and said I want a 1.5 drop and they did it. They are not in yet so I can not speak to much on them but if you really wanted you could have them change the wire diameter, rate or whatever you want...But its not cheap.

www.coilsprings.com

I've had 5 pairs of springs made by them total. Great customer service.

The price depends on the drop. Just contact them for a quote.
