Love My Car Again

I have posted in the past about how my 97 Bonneville was acting up, hesitating, surgeing backfireing running like crap but not setting any codes. Other times the car would run great...or so I thought.
Well, yesterday I was in Watertown NY and went into AutoZone and picked up 3 ignition coils, around $90.00. (Here in Canada they are about $48.00 each).
I installed all 3 today and what an amazing change in how the car ran. I went on a 300km run this afternoonand....
Better starts, better fuel milage, amazing passing power now.
While changing the coils I noticed that on one coil the 2 terminals underneath had green corossion. May of been the problem.
Now to get the Traction Control and ABS light off. When scanned the voltage was all over the scale and mechanic figures a "green" wire or connector somewhere.
Time to start searching.
Thanks to all the help tips given by other members, I now love my car again.

good to hear, make sure you put dielectric grease on the terminals to prevent the corrosion from returning.

I put dielectric grease on the terminals. I had to chisiel one of the bolts of that holds the coils on, the other 5 came out no problem.
Now to track down ABS/Traction issue.
Thanks.

After driving mine this afternoon and being surprised by the power and pick up, I really want to try a super charged model.
Or, maybe because my last 4 cars were 4 cyl. the Bonneville just seems fast allthough it gets up to 180 kms hr pretty quick.
Wished I would of changed the coils months ago.

i hated my GXP so much ever since i got back which was a month and so ago, i couldnt stand driving it
it was going into the shop everyday, fire under the hood, hit and run and so much more

after i got it all fixed and when i went to pick it up from the bodyshop i swear when the guy was driving it around the block it reminded me of the first day i bought the car, it just looked soo good! now we're back inlove and ripped the divorce papers :D
