looking at new car
What would you do?
There is a 2003 with 150,000 or a 2000 with 76,000 Sane price on both of um and they're both ssei Both are $9000 Is this a pretty good deal I was thinking the 2000 because miles make up for age right?? There is always that other option of just fixing the '94 that'll cost me a good $3500 though Any one have an idea which lasts longer the 2000 models or the 1992-1995 models Cause Ihave a 94 with 120k on it and the newer cars I've been looking at have almost the same amount of miles |
I have a 2000 Se... I love it. I have never had any real problems and it has 128,000 miles on it.
|
They will all last about the same.... basically forever  As long as you do some preventative maintenance on it, the engine will outlast just about everything else. Just keep an eye out for the intake gaskets if you go with one of the 00+ SSEi though ;)
|
i'd say '03 because it sounds like highway miles...
|
The only real way to decide is to give both a good visual inspection, and then drive them both. That will often make the decision easier of one over the other.
|
I think in ’03 they corrected some of the transmission problems. It got the hardened 4th clutch shaft IIRC. Also isn’t the seat leather better quality in the ’03?
IMO there is almost no difference mechanically between 76k and 150k on a Bonneville. Really the only aging on mine has been the amount of underbody rust. Otherwise I agree with Archon. |
But what about the car I already have Iwas trying to decide between either of these and my car I have a '94 ssei with 120k on it but the engine is shot everything else is mechanically soun put $400 in parts before the engine went which was only a couple days I really love this car and have never been in or test driven a 2000+
but Im not sure it worth it to sink at lest another $2000 maybe up to $4000 or $5000 for other stuff I want to do with it So all that said what would you do considering you were tight on money but might be barely able to squeak by with a new car? 1.Would you fix the old one 2.Out with the old in with the new |
I was kinda thinkin fix up the old one drive it into the ground and then upgrade to a new one cuase theyll be cheaper then too
