Looking at buying a Bonneville

Hi all, I'm looking at buying a 2003 SLE. I took it for a drive and looked it over, and all appears pretty good. Is there anything else I should look for on these cars that would be apparent and indicate trouble? The car rode smooth, no odd smells or anything suspect.

It does have the paint bubbling under the hood, so I already said I would want a repaint in the deal. Should I expect this to go smoothly as far as matching good when it's done? It's a black car.

The only other real issue I found is that when I sat in the back seat, the seat back rattles. I'll have at least one car seat back there, and I'm afraid I'll be driven nuts by the rattling. Does anyone know if this could be easily remedied? Otherwise I'll see if the dealer can look at it.

Thanks

Welcome Grimm,
dont let this thread scare you away from driving a Beautiful Car.

http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=45965

you can take a look here for commen problems we noticed.
now not all, 2000+ have these problems.
If your buying from a dealer ask for a car report.
and ask if any of these have been done to the car.

Welcome Grimm, There is risk in buying any used car. The 2003 Bonnevilles appear to be the best of the 2000 Generation. Have the dealer resolve any discrepencies as part of the deal. Additionally, it should come with a warranty as an example it may be 60 days or 3000 mlies which ever comes first If you are buying from a Pontiac or GM Dealer. Anyway, if you decide to purchase this wonderful car, you will have plenty of tech support here at BC. You're in the right place my friend.

Grimm, we may have a local member in MI that can hook up with you to look the car over if you like.
