Bad rim?
My left front tire has been giving me some problems for the past 6 months or so. I'll go park my car, leave it for about a day, come back and the tire will be almost completely flat. The fronts are practically new, just bought them about 8 mths ago. I told my uncle this and he says that the rim is oxidizing and causing air leakage. Does this sound right? If so, is there any way to fix it other than to replace the rim?

Happened to me during the winter. All I did was take the tire to a garage and have them fix it. It cost me $17.00 and they did it on the spot. I think all they did was took the tire off and put it back on the rim. It really depends on what is wrong with the tire...

If it'* rust on the rim, you just pop the tire off and hit the rim with a steel brush.
If it'* a valve stem you'll hear the leak when you push the valve stem to the side.
Unless there'* a hole in the sidewall, There'* no need to replace the tire.
Unless the rim is bent, There'* no need to replace the rim.
