LKQ

Well, it seems LKQ is buying up many of the bone yards on the east coast. Recently they bought LIVINGSTONS, a local yard I have been going to for almost 20 years. Today I went to check it out. I was very impressed. This is probably one of the nicest yards I have ever been to. All the cars were 2 feet in the air, the whole lot was thick rock gravel, neatly organised by the various manufactures. It's a you pull, and as soon as you walk into the yard there is a fleet of wheelbarrows for you to use. They have a set price list for every part, no matter what type of car. I found 1 92-99 Bonneville. So I snagged a few items:

I just wish the driver's seat was in better condition.
A point of interest: They remove and crush 32 cars once every day (Mon- Fri), and replace them with 32 more cars. So their invintry is never the same.

That's old hat over here...they have been in Orlando for a while, they just took over the Pull-N-Save in Daytona, and THAT lot had everything modeled like LKQ does.

On some things, the pricing is great...same price for an LT1 as it is for a 1.6 VW motor. And that is how I got the donor motor for the Jinx...130ish I think for a 90K '93 3800. I was happy!

I've been frequenting the yards here for years, and none of them can compete with the prices this place has. Some of the other yards are gonna lose alot of business.

It's about time we got a decent u-pull in the area

Expect Pat to be making a few more trips down to this area ;)

LKQ is great. They are by far my favorite place to work with. The closest one is 70 miles away, but I can always count on them.

Wish we had some places like that around here. Your pic reminds me, I need to get a new headlight switch

I'm going back in a week or so. (Quest for a driver's seat)If there are any Bonnevilles out there at that time I'll grab you a switch. 8)
