This is horrible. Hopefully posting this will relieve me of some of my giddyness...but these came in the mail today...and I'm stuck at the office for the next 3 1/2 hours...

I can't wait to get home! My first real mod! (that I'VE done to the car)

another set of ebay clears. they seem to be very good quality, haven't had any problems with mine.

labonnevillastrangiato 08-31-2007 03:19 PM

Oh, look at those babies! I was thinking of getting a set myself.
I just replaced my RH one (thanks Boosty) that had a bad crack in it. Not sure what my wife would think if I bought more!

BTW: Your avatar, are you DJ'ing?

Adam

harofreak00 08-31-2007 03:21 PM

the mod bug has you

CJCroel 08-31-2007 03:24 PM

The mod bug DOES have me, it's kinda nice though. After doing those, I think it'll be a nice night to have a few beers...pull my TB off, clean that out...maybe pull my fender and pop a few dents...i mean, why not? I have nowhere to be haha.

And yes, I'm DJing in the avatar...it's something I do part-time for fun...usually every Sat. or every other Sat. at a bar near Lansing...good times (sometimes)

sqela 08-31-2007 04:33 PM

Awsome. But defintly beware of that mod bug. Once he's bitten and it looks like he has your $ starts disapearing into your bonne

Here's the results! After about 5 hours, I got the intake all cleaned out, my clear corners on, and seafoamed it! It took longer than it should have due to those d@mn IAC screws both snapping off, had to tap & die the heck out of it, but I made it work.

What? I can only get it halfway in?

And this is why

Okay...where do I start?
Attachment 43194

This is where I start...you guys were all in my tiny one car garage helping!
Attachment 43195

Something simple first, let's put my clear corners on
Attachment 43196

Or...not so simple
Attachment 43197

Hmmm...what's down here? (Trying to get access to my fender bolts)

Attachment 43211

So that was my night...
She's a little stronger now, not a huge difference, but I noticed. Got some tire squawk when I hit it...took a video too!

I just used the Seafoam also, made quite a difference :D

oh, and you are not alone in the DJ thing... check out Darrel. He is here in Michigan and also does it part time ;)

Jack 09-03-2007 09:34 AM

Clear Corners are a nice touch 8) , now throw some Silverstar marker lights up front . That TB is so clean I would eat out of it, she'll be a little happier now. BTW, l Iike your engine cover ;)

Your car make me miss my '99 SE :(

leftd90 09-03-2007 10:34 PM

Yeah looks like you got the bug, nice work.

samueljackson 09-03-2007 10:45 PM

man that tb was nasty, good job cleanin it up. and good to see ur out of hospital, and enjoyin ur ride.

BillBoost37 09-04-2007 07:19 AM

Looks great.. I'm confused as to why you were going after fender bolts and removing the evap canister.

Barry 09-04-2007 09:25 AM

How did you use the Seafoam? Suck it thru a vacuum line? If so, which one? Thanx.

BTW, when I installed my clear corners, I didn't disassemble anything. Popped the old ones out, popped the clear ones in. About 10 minutes per side max.

CJCroel 09-04-2007 09:50 AM

Boosty: I removed the evap canister and was trying to get at the fender bolts because I was going to try to pop that nasty dent out of there...and I was "dry-fitting" my cone air filter to see how well it fit in the hole where the evap canister goes.

Barry: For the Seafoam, I used a funnel and slowly poured it into my brake booster line...it seemed to be the best option, and worked out great. I read here that you were supposed to let the vacuum suck it through, but the line seemed a little big for the can, and I didn't want any incidents where I couldn't get the hose out on time or anything like that.

As for the headlight removal, once again, I was just clearing room to see where (if any) bolts were hidden for the fender. That actually had nothing to do with my clear corners as I may have hinted at in my post.

Thanks CJ. Welcome to the club. This forum is a gold mine for most anything you can imagine. Nice car you have there.
