dad was victim of a hit and run while at Home Depot parking lot today.
Needless to say, there'* now a palm-of-hand-sized dent above the driver'* corner light, maybe 1 or 2 cm deep. Red paint smeared about. Likely it was an SUV/truck that hit based on the height of the dent.
The corner light is cracked. Got a second one lying around that'* cracked still (the original), but it'll have to do, it'* been "recovered" (the crack sealed and glued up).
The gold stripe on my bumper is in sorry shape, right at the side/corner.
Headlight/hood is okay.
It probably won't be fixed, funds don't permit, and technically, in the family, it'* the car that is beatered around a bit. The paint cracked and/or is chipping, but I haven't got a chance to look at the dent closely in good light.
Needless to say...

That really sucks man. I know how you feel. The only damage my car has is from other people.. It was rear ended, somebody backed into my front end only a week after I got it painted, and somebody slammed their door into my rear passenger side quarter panel leaving a quarter sized dent with no paint left there. People **** me off.

yah one time i witnessed a hit and run and my friend and i watched a white corrola hit the front bumper of a truck and left a huge mark and then she just drove off. I went inside the store and informed the owner of the happening and also gave them the corrola'* license plate number. haha justice was served but sometimes i cant believe the things people do, i mean she just left after i saw her hit the truck without even getting out to look at it.

The car'* technically has been a beater since we got it in 2001, now it just isn't a nice beater anymore. :(
Now that I got a chance to look at it during the day time, it'* not horridly bad. Detracts from the car'* appearance, most definately, but eh, **** happens, believe me, if enough money was in the family to fix a cosmetic issue like this, there wouldn't be a high-mileage 1991 Bonneville in the driveway (but an SSEi?!). And knowing Ontario insurance, just making a claim thanks to a hit and run and/or uninsured motorist will cause rates to climb by a lot. Heck, rates are going up regardless
Still though,

You should check out the video cam option... man if someone did a hit & run on one of my rides... I'd be exploring every option to find the SOB.
