Default Twilight Sentinal

Well, since I bought my bonnnie, this has been sort of fickle. Never really wanting to work with me. When I turn the **** for the twilight sentinal it doesn't do anything. I have to turn the the **** you pull out for the lights. When i turn it back and forth the lights behind the dash start to darken up and then get brighter again and then go back to dark. No pattern to it whatsoever. I guess i'm asking how to fix this and what is wrong with it. I would appreciate some help. Thanks.

Assuming you are doing this correctly, the **** that you pull out for headlights should dim when turned to the right, and brighten up when u turn it left, if u go to far left, it clicks, turning on all the interior lights, the slider behind the headlight switch is for your twilight sentinal timer, basically, at night, headlights should automatically be on, when u turn the car off, and get out the headlights will be on atimer, depending on were the twilight switch is at, all the way to the right is like 3 minutes or so, mine was usually on for a minute or so, but u can shut that off if u rotate the switch compleatly left to the off position. If you are doing this, and it still doesnt work, the reheaostat switch needs to be replaced.
have fun

there are 2 ***** one for the dimming of the interior lights and then one for the Twillight. The one the dims the interior lights is the round one. The one that only moves half way is the twillight and it looks like a pointer

I think his issue is that twilight sentinel isn't working for him.. he has to manually turn on and off the lights.

Do you have a FOB?? Does your car lights blink when you lock and or unlock the doors with it?

The lights inside of the car turn on when I lock/unlock the doors, but the headlights and/or parking lights dont do anything. Now I understand the twilight sentinal thing a little more. I think I have had it turned off. But when I move the other round **** the lights in the dash go dark to bright in random order. But for the most part I figured it out. Thanks guys.

err.. I don't know bout your year, but the Twilight Sentinel can't be killed unless you're in Park, or dragging *fooling possibly * the system to think you're parking brakes are applied. IT should automatically turn on your headlights/marker lights as soon as it gets too dark... automatically.. no need to pull the switch at nite. Mine is broken and shows the same symptoms as yours.. but in my case.. I have traced it down to Lamp Control Module thats causing MY issue..

So the better question since I'm not hooked on phonics is..
Are you inquiring bout the light switch and how it works??
Or how Twilight Sentinels work and why it may not be working for you??

Putting the car in park doesn't kill the TS lights, but it will stop DRL'* if equipped.

Interesting note, in 95 or 96, the TS **** was reversed from the earlier design.

True... true.. I should've word it right.. if you're in park.. and you move the switch for twilight sentinel time delay.. to off ( counter clockwise till it clicks ) AFTER you're car is started and still in park.. it will turnoff your exterior lights till it gets out of park or when you flick it back

the random order of the dashlights just means the dash dimmer has gone bad. common problem.

He has to MANUALLY turn on the headlights? And MANUALLY turn them off, too??? Jeez, I feel for ya, man...

Just kidding One reason I AM glad I have a '93 Bonnie and not a '94 or above - No Twilight Sentinel. It gets dark out, I turn on the lights. I get out of the car, I turn my lights off. Ah, the simplicity
