Just Curious

What cars out there do you compete with the most. I for example like to run with Taurus SHO's and Grand Am GT's w\ ram air. I was just curious as to what everyone else likes to compete with.

Anything with 4 wheels.....except the bmw m3

I don't mind losing, I just don't like losing BADLY.

I seem to end up racing a lot of riced out Civics.

95BonnevilleSESC 10-24-2002 05:54 PM

I don't race.....MUCH. When I do it tends to be rice crispies for breakfast.

Bonneville_blue 11-14-2002 12:46 AM

No one tries to race me, they think im insane. I have a 2x4 ft dent in right side door. No one will rev at me even lol, they are scared I will hit them! hehehehh I love it

Do you guys have this problem. Everyone at work thinks I drive a grandpas car. I tell people take one ride and change your mind, or I ask to race them but nobody takes me seriously. People ask why I drive a full size car and I tell I like the room, the 3800 Series are really reliable and peppy and fuel effiecient, safey and how sporty it is. Alot of people just think my car is too big and for old people. :x

vze3r85p 11-14-2002 10:51 PM

I'll race ANYTHING ! I don't care if I win or lose , just wanna be comfortable ! Besides , if we lose BADLY it's probably gonna be to a small sports car ! So he can't get to happy anyway !
How would it sound " My 50,000.00 corvette beat a sedan , wait till the guys here about thi one !" !

I am 19 and drive a 92sse sc. I catch a lot of flack for saying I'm driving a Bonneville. They do shut up pretty quick when I whoop em. I like the fact that it's a sleeper. And now that I made a custom intake, she's whistles so they don't know what's flying by them. I love it.

vze3r85p 11-17-2002 01:54 PM

I honestly think that the window tint took that problem away !

I am only 17, with a 95 SSE. I get a lot of mixed comments on it. Some really love it. I let one of my friends drive it around a bit, and he liked it. He drives a Sebring with a shitty 2.5 V6, so my car was a real wake up for him.

I get some bad comments on it too. One, of course, is people saying I drive a grandpa car. Some say it is too big also. Then there are the morons who can't justify themselves, and call my car "stupid", "gay", "car for losers", "pontiac sucks". Shit like that.

They don't know what they are missing.

Sol 11-17-2002 09:49 PM

I think the only reason he keeps it, is because it's a convertible.

Bigfunkytown 12-11-2002 04:17 PM

What a lot of people forget is that Pontiac has been GM's performance brand for years. The Bonnie was for the guy who had a family but still wanted some get up and go. This was also true of Grand Dad who still had a lead foot but didn't want to be seen as going through the mid-life crissis by driving a comaro or firebird to the golf club. We have gotten a car that has the ability to be sporty, but also able to get on the road and knock out that 1500 mile trip. It has been my expierience to run from Fort Worth Down to Houston, Texas with the crise set on 75mph and not only refuel once but watch the rpm gage drop as I flew down the highway,(from about 2500rpm down to about 1900rpm), yet have plenty of power to boot!

Anything pretty much. But I love to race Mustang V-6's b/c they think just b/c their car is called a "MUSTANG" it's fast. I've never been beaten by one yet(V-6 not V-8). And the comment about people calling the Bonny's grandmaw cars....they are just jealous and wish they had all the back seat room we have with our girls.

Bonneville_blue 12-11-2002 11:34 PM

Word 8)

csprague 12-12-2002 07:11 PM

Anybody who bashes the Bonneville is just jealous. In high school my Bonneville was one of the nicest cars in the lot, people used to call it a "grandma-car" all the time. Funny, that grandma car never lost a single race to one of their little econoboxes. Anyway, I drive a little econobox now, and I can say to every teen with a Bonnie - you're a lucky kid. Mine took a ton of upkeep to it and guzzled gas, but it was one hell of a car. I still want to a get another in a couple years (a nice 99 SSEi with all the goodies :) )

Sol 12-12-2002 11:06 PM

Totally. Not to brag or anything, but I think I have the best car at my school, but nobody would think that since they've never driven it. Most people own Tempos and shit like that. There are a few daddy's cars out there, like the Z28 and Trans Am, so I won't count them.
