GM axing the Bonneville after 2005!?!....
According to Car & Driver[2/05] an article reported in the Chicago Tribune states that Pontiac-GMC marketing general manager Jim Bunnell admitted the Division is unsure how the Bonneville will fit into the lineup after 2005.The Bonneville has been in a sales slide, selling just 27,000 units through the first 10 months of 2004.It'* unknown whether a sedan will replace the Bonneville or if a car-based SUV will get the top spot at Pontiac,.......what IS known is that Pontiac trademarked the alphanumeric name 'G-8' earlier this year,...and whatever vehicle replaces the Bonneville will bear that name :?

I would hate to see that especially since a year or so ago I remember seeing an article that was saying they were thinking about going to RWD in 06 or 07. One thing they do need to change on it is the backend I do not like all the plastic on it that is why the 93 bodies are my favorite style.
I would love to see them produce a 2007 bonneville with a 3800 variable cams to help optimise bottem and top end allong with having two options for drive RWD and AWD that runs as rwd when not needed so they would have some thing to show up the Ford "Fivehundred" and have much more power than there 203hp *they clame it can out accelerate cars in the same class with 250hp*
I do not think they will do the above but I would if i were them. I would also like to see them do the following but there is even less of a chance for them doing it .
Create a v8 3800 so from the original 205hp and 230t it would push it to about 273hp and 306t then with variable cam timing to add to the lowend torque and also have a higher redline and more accelaration. Also for sh** and giggles have it set to run direct fuel injection like on the CIEN.

The 04'* are definitely having a hard time selling. I wonder what kind of deal could be had on the FULLY LOADED 04 SE at the local Pontiac dealer. It'* been on the lot since last March. That car is absulutely gorgeous in the maple Red, and with all the options a SE could possibly have -leather, dual power & heated seats, Moonroof, 16" chrome rims, XM radio, dual digital climate control, and alot of other options -been 2 months since I looked it over. Bet that car could be had now, or real soon, for under $23k with all the incentive'* GM will be putting out on previous years models.

Here'* what I don't understand. Changing the name to the car will suddenly make it that much better?
C'mon GM get your head out of your ***! Step up to the plate and make an all around better vehicle and sell it for less than 35K! Give it a better looking(and feeling) interior, a V-8 that will perform, and keep the GXP body style because it'* freeking sharp as a knife!
