Weight Differences
What all on the SSE package makes it more heavy than the SE, other than more plastic and different exhaust.

what is the weight difference between my 91 sse and my 94 sse? My son says the 94 is heavier than the 91. The only option he has that I don't have is the sunroof. Is it because I have a series 1 or what? :?:

The 1994 is heavier, but not by much.
Here are the weight specs (in lbs) of Bonnevilles from 1989-1995.
1989
LE: 3,275 lbs
SE: 3,327
SSE: 3,551
1990:
LE: 3,309
SE: 3,392
SSE: 3,567
1991:
LE: 3,323
SE: 3,376
SSE: 3,551
1992:
SE: 3,362
SSE: 3,507
SSEi: 3,607
1993:
SE: 3,444
SSE: 3,587
SSEi: 3,690
1994:
SE: 3,446
SSE: 3,587
1995:
SE: 3,446
SSE: 3,587
These #'* are from PMD (Pontiac Motor Division) and published in Krause Publications "Standard Catalog of Pontiac, 1926-1995.
In 1994 and 1995 the SSEi was an option package on the SSE, therefore #'* weren't provided on them, but the difference is pretty similar to the difference between 1992/1993 SSE and SSEi'*.
Hopefully this summer I'll get the updated edition which covers up to 2003 I believe.

Why is the SSE in the late 80'* so much hevier than the LE and SE. You buy an SSE for sport and you probably get the slowest of the bunch. I was amazed looking at the 93' weights as well. My car weighs 3448lbs, and thats fully loaded. The base model weighs only 3421lbs. I suppose the beefed up suspension and all the options are what make the Bonny so much hevier
