Do I have Keyless Entry?
I purchased a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE a few weeks ago as a second car, to give the Bonneville a little rest. The car did not come with any keyless entry remotes, and I simply assumed that the car was not equipped with keyless entry. However, two times now I have exited the car and locked the doors, only to have the lights flash and horn toot a few moments after I closed the door…such as a confirmation you receive when you lock with a keyless entry remote. I’m starting to wonder if I’m simply missing the remotes, as commonly happens with used cars. My question is: How do I know if this Grand Am is equipped with a Keyless Entry System, and I’m just missing the remotes?

You should have a code on the underside of the spare tire cover( this is where you will find the RPO code listing ) AU0 will be the code for keyless entry

Thanks! Just looked and I do NOT have the AU0 code on the label.
What would make it flash the lights and toot the horn? LOL!
Thanks again.

But yeah it seems like something is up with this car... Start looking for some extra spliced in wires...

I am thinking this GA is flash/honking as a confirmation of lock upon a possible second press or certain time length press of the button. My suggestion would be to double check the owners manual.
