I read that article when i checked my email this morning. I can see where letting the car warm up wouldnt help the steady idle as it did in the day of carb'*/choke'*. however to say that letting a car warm up for anything over 30 sec is useless... i am skepticle. it would take longer than 30sec to get the oil warmed up and to the right viscosity where it would properly lubricate, also getting the metals of the motor (block/heads/ bolts, ect) to where they wouldnt snap, warp, or expand improperly. Plus who wants to get into a freezing vehicle?

I mainly warm my truck up becaue it'* only 8 mins to work, and I like a bit of heat before I pull in to the parking lot. It also does not take in account the safty part. Not having a warmed up engien runs the risk of fogging up the windshield because of your breath.
