Whats your City MPG - UPDATE 10/18/06
I just got 336 miles out of my 98 SSE and put 17.403 gallons in to top it off. That gives me 19.3MPG. I ran it so low because I wanted a baseline for miles on the tank and MPG. I just bought it a couple weeks ago.
I'm OK with that but I know I can help this big boat over 20.
Next step is to make a CAI from the stock airbox. I'm thinking 7" *&B Powerstack cone like I have on the GTP.

Have you already given it a thorough tune up? Items like spark plugs, wires, PCV valve, O2 sensor?
What kind of highway mileage do you get? Or have you tested that yet?

You can't rate city mileage. It will depend greatly on stoplights etc.
A recent tank of mine was around 15-17mpg, it felt great too.
The greatest improvement you can make to gas mileage is stuffing something under the pedal to keep yourself from using any power.

Yes driving habits will have the most influence on your MPG whether its city or highway. If you want the higher MPG you might just try taking it a bit easier. My driving is a city/highway mix and varies quite a bit depending on how I drive, the lowest ive ever seen is 19, and I usually get around 22-23 with the AC on and now that its colder outside im seeing the 24-25 again. Then on the highway it kicks up a bit more, I usually end up with over 28, so im sure its actually getting 30 or better on the highway. Granted I have a different engine, but the concept still applies.

Since I bought it I have replaced, plugs, air filter with a Fram drop in, PCV valve, and fuel filter.
I only drive the car to and from work. My GTP is my "play" car. It'* a 10 mile each way trip where speed never gets above 55-60. I hit ~5 lights and I keep the RPMs below 3K as much as possible. I try not to make any drastic launches or passing moves that would kick the gears down too much. There is NO HW involved with this drive.

Check your tire pressure too.
You can also look into tires designed for low rolling resistance, they won't corner but may save a little gas.
