Default Bad trip...

Well shoot.. Didn't have a very good trip to see the folks.. I knew my Bonneville still had a oil pan leak that the dealer didn't fix very well, but I found more work to do on my 03 now with 33K miles..

I was running down the highway and looked over to see the oil pressure sitting on 80+ psi or whatever you call that 3/4 way "thick" mark. In fact, I pulled up to a light and it was still on that 80. Obviously going down the highway, it should have been a couple ticks above the 40 only (50-60ish). Told the wife that the oil pressure sensor is slowly failing. I even saw it jump around some..

Next day in Abilene, TX we were driving around and the EXT TEMP was stuck on 60 psi.. It did this once before and the dealership reflashed the firmware on the A/C panel and said it was fixed. Later that day, it started working again. Guess I'll just forget about it. Then my biggest complaint was the driver door panel making horrible noises like a styrofoam cooler. Just above the speaker where the light tan and the dark tan panels meet, it was really going after it.. ARGH, not to mention the intake still leaks just enough to smell like coolant. (another failed repair from the dealer BTW)

Anyhow, just wanted to vent some agrivation with my "young" Bonny. We are back home, but this is the first night in a long time the Bonny is OUT of the garage and my old pickup is in.. Starting on the oil pan and pressure switch this week. Intake after that.

Sometimes if you want it done right. . . you do it yourself.

By the way, there is Styrofoam inside the door in the form of sound insulation; usually it gets thrown away on the first window regulator replacement though.

Yeah, little things like that can be aggravating, that'* for sure. My oil pressure sensor went a while ago, too. Still needing to get that one fixed. But my Bonnie has close to 150k miles on it. Had close to 100k problem free miles.

So, once you these small things worked out, should be smooth sailing for a while.

This is a rant about the aggrevating trip or you are looking for mechanical advice and help fixing the problems?
