Default Has anyone re-used aluminum LIM gaskets?

Has anyone one the club had occasion to re-use their new-style aluminum LIM gaskets?

(In a related question, any chance the rubber end seals can be re-used?)

Yup...sure did on motor #2. They held find for all 10 miles of it'* life. No signs of them leaking. Clean the RTV off the end seals and bottoms as best you can and if they look good., go for it.

My second set on the spur of the moment..cost $70 from a local stealership.

The decision is yours, but I wouldn't risk the integrity of a motor for a used gasket savings.

Especially for gaskets that aren't exactly quick and easy to get to in the event of a failure. IMO, $50 spent is good insurance.

I guess if you tear your motor apart a lot it might save some money in the long run but I personally wouldn't risk it.
