Default Zilla fun at lunch.

Noticed a nice rattle yesterday (was hoping it wasn't another catalytic converter, but the sound was similar). A little 'tinny' rather than rattly. Zipped into the exhaust guy at lunch when I saw an empty bay. Two corners of the heat shield on the cat (not the shield on the car) had come loose from the spot welds. This is the clamshell heatshield right around (part of) the cat.

He zipped it up with the welder for me for free

That'* the best free lunch I've had in awhile.

Same guy. He actually had 2 stock cars in the shop today. One up on a lift, the other below it. I think one is a buddy'*. He did my muffler, but I had already had another shop do the cat for me before that.

We talked alot about resonator options today, too. More info on that later.
