Default That Darn Air Compressor

I'd like to find the idiot over at GM that decided after 96' that they were no longer going to put the air ride compressor under the hood and instead put it by the back seat and smack him. Every single friggin time I have passengers in the back seat that thing just drowns loud as heck. It annoys me and especially my back seat passengers that have to sit right next to the darn thing. Is it supposed to be that loud? It seems as though it got that way after it got cold out.

When it gets cold, the rubber shock mounts get hard (no sexual jokes please). Wrap some towels around it, or even better, make a simple sound deadening box to go around it with some packing foam inside.

The towels will muffle it. Maybe even grease up the rubber shock mounts.
