alternative to silverstars?
I just had my second silverstar light burn out in a year! This lights are too expensive to replace this often. One bulb lasted 8 months, the other lasted 4 months. The passenger side light has made it a year so far. Are there any alternatives that last longer and are as bright and good looking? The stock sylvania lights I had in my 88 LeSabre lasted 7 years without burning out... and the silverstars are lasting for me on average of half a year! Seems to me if you pay $20 bucks per freakin bulb they should last longer than half a year.

Oh, even worse is the fact that it was my low beams... my high beams are probably on about 80% of the time too which makes it even worse. (my high beams also function as my day time running lights and I do most of my driving during the day and sicne I live in the country if I do drive at night my high beams are almost always on.

just checking, but you made sure not to touch the bulbs while handling them, right? Cool blues are another option, but they're also sylvania, which you probably don't want to return to. Also there are PIAA and APC (i think)

Well... everyone will say they're crap, But I've had EuroDezigns bulbs in my car for about a year.... They're just as bright as Silverstars and a little more blue. Find them on eBay.

Any chance you are getting a small amount of moisture in the lense. The will reduce bulb life. Also, just wearing gloves will not ensure that the bulb will not get contaminated. Guard the bulb with your life when changeing it. Ive had my Silverstars 9 months and no problems.
