Default Salesman tells me this cars brakes are fine.. just too funny

local dealer tells me a car i purchased has good brakes... you be the judge...here is the rotor i replaced before leaving the dealer... Yes I replaced it as i bought the car as is...

I didnt care too much as i'm a state inspection mechanic and being a rocket scientist I knew the brakes had trouble... but true story, the lady who traded the car in to this dealership drove it from Georgia this way... it'* a wonder why she didnt notice the grinding, pulsing, and sparks flying off the wheel... Funny part is , the dealer salesman said he drove it around the lot and it had no problems when he drove it.. Heck I didnt care, I paid $200 for a nice Bonneville SE with a no rust body that runs and drives... Oh, the back side of the rotoe had .010 of surface left on it too... heh... some people are just plain nuts...

Do you know if the front breaks even worked? If only the back ones were working I dont think you would feel that rotor being the front pads wouldn't be touching it. If they are working the lady must have been deaf not to hear some sort of noice or feel it at least. (sorry for the double post )

thing is the rotor surface was busted from the hub thus it did not turn.. just the hub. the caliper held the rotor surface from turning... Scary stuff anyway you look at it...

Yep.. it was right on the piston too.. It was just too funny how the salesman said the brakes were fine when you can look in the wheel and see the front side of the rotor was missing... And to have him say, "I drove it and it weemed fine" was over the top.. I'd love to say the dealerships name, but i'm not into dealer bashing... I got a fair deal and i was content with doing the repair.. took me 15 mins in their parking lot to replace the brakes and rotor.

That is absolutely priceless. Un-freaking-believeable! (except we're looking at the proof!)

Man, and I thought the time I could see the vents on my discs (many, many years ago) was bad...

Im surprised there wasnt any other damage to the car. I would definently check the rear brakes. They are probably just as bad.
