Performace changes based on driving?
I understand that the magnasteer system adjusts how the car steers based on speed and driving conditions. However, I've noticed that a great many other systems in the car seem to adjust themselves to how I'm driving...If I'm cruising about town, not doing anything special, the braking, acceleration, and such are smooth and "old guy" car...Now, if I drive uber-aggressive for a couple of minutes, I notice that everything ups itself...acceleration seems better, brakes seem more responsive, everything seems better.
So...my imagination, or something else? If there is some software/computer controlling how these things change, is there a way to shove the car into uber-drive all the time? Cause I like uber-drive.

The PCM is a unit that learns and adjusts itself according to the information it receives from its various sensors. Then it runs your engine in the most efficient fashion. Because it learns, it will change the way your engine runs depending upon the information it receives, including your driving habits.

Fuddy is onto something and it makes good sense. When under hard acceleration, its possibe that the PCM alters air flow/fuel intake for better combustion, the tires and brakes are warmed up.
Its also highly probably the the increase in velocity and intensity alters your perception making for an exciting drive.
Its uber cool as it were....

So the secret to feeling like you're driving a maniac'* car is...driving like a maniac?
As long as I know it'* not entirely in my imagination...And, of course, it means that before I try and burn a Viper on the line, I'll make sure I've smoked a few Civics for practice.
Thanks.
