Why a Bonneville ?
Why are you here ?
I'm here because I like big fast cars. I like the fact that I can get hit by a Honda Civic and live. I like my 1992 SSEI because I can go 100 MPH without effort.
The car'* are Amercian made and just about any part can be puchased at the
local parts retailer.
I like the smooth ride with a hint of sportiness. Although I never hit turn 2 at Sebring, I can hit an onramp with a style and speed thats impossible to get in a Toyota Camry.
I like the fact that a Mercedes cost as much as my house but barely beats the Bonny in performance. Heck, I bet with my 500 bucks in mods I could smoke or at least scare the average 65k$ car. My mods are less than ONE monthly payment on a Big European brand.
Anyway, tell me why you like the Bonneville. I like to hear about other folks with an irrational love for an automobile.

I love my bonneville, you pretty much summed it up, some great words.... Basically i love the fact that i have style, comfort and performance in one package. Nothing beats that, sure you can go get a 30k sports car but you wont have the comfort and features of a bonneville. Also because i like the sleeper aspect, you pull up to a line against a mustang or camaro and rev your engine and they will laugh at you, or atleast until they are looking at the back of your car...

I love the challenge of a big FWD car. It takes skill to manuver at the threshold of traction. That and it'* built like a tank, Repairs are cheap, And it uses old school/simple systems. Nothing too out of this world complex. I think the most I've spent in the FSM was 2hrs, I just couldn't remember the wires colors as I traced out my Power Windows. It was a bad master switch BTW...

Fast. And the name. For those that know what it means, anyway. And the sleeper effect, techno-cool-factor, and on and on......not to mention that intoxicating whine.

even though I have a SLE I can tell you why I love the B-ville. ELECTRONICS. Ok How many cars in 93 had :
ELC
supercharged
HUD
compass
Air compressor ( inflator valve in the trunk)
ACC
and the overall Coolness that the SSE/i had in 93

I like the buttons too ! My car has more buttons than a shirt factory inside.
Each one needing a slight adjustment when I first get in.
It'* kinda like sitting at the helm of the Enterprise when I turn the key on and everything lights up.
the name ?
I suppose it'* from the Bonneville salt flats right ? The racetrack of
every teenagers dreams...

Bonneville, especially the higher end models, have the best luxury bang for your buck! Mines 11 years old and evertime I dirve it feels like a new car. Oh, and how $much$ does an import need to be loaded with the same amenities inherent to a SSEi?
I paid $3,400.00

Speaking of a '93 having all that stuff, my '89 has the same, except the HUD. I love my bonneville. I can take speed bumps at 50 and not feel a thing [yes, I have done this, yes, I will do it again faster]. I LOVE the fact when I say "Bonneville" to my friends they all think slow, and old, I LOVE sleeper cars, there is no end to the coolness of them. I hate cars you can go to walmart to get performance parts for. I really like the chase, and once I find something, it is all worth it. I also love my Bonneville, because my dad owned her after she was a year old, and then my mom owned her the past 5 years. Now she'* mine, and the history is still there. There is no limit to this car. I don't think you could find a 16 year old car with half the electronics mine has. Until OBDII came out, I don't think there was a car that could compete with the bonneville electronics wise. I just love everything about the bonneville, even the problems mine [and other'*] have.
